Luke Rockhold, Michael Bisping Continue to Trade Barbs Regarding Possible Trilogy Bout

Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping continue to build toward a possible trilogy fight with their social media feud.

This time it was Rockhold who fired the first shot, posting a photo of their first bout with the caption: “Sign the contract or shut it.” Rockhold defeated Bisping via second-round submission in that bout at UFC Fight Night 55 on Nov. 7, 2014.

Bisping didn’t take long to respond, pointing out that he knocked out Rockhold in the first round at UFC 199 to claim the middleweight throne on June 4, 2016. The two rivals went back and forth from there, with Bisping denying that there has been a contract offer of any sort regarding a trilogy fight between the two men.

Bisping hasn’t competed since being finished by Georges St. Pierre and Kelvin Gastelum in a three-week span this past November. “The Count” recently said that he believes he has one more fight in him and would have “no problem” knocking out Rockhold again, possibly at 205 pounds.

Rockhold, meanwhile, rebounded from his loss to Bisping at UFC 199 to stop David Branch in the second round this past September before falling to Yoel Romero via third-round knockout in an interim title bout at UFC 221 on Feb. 10. The former UFC and Strikeforce champion has entertained the idea of a move to light heavyweight in recent months, citing an increasingly difficult cut to 185 pounds.
