A promotion official confirmed the news with Sherdog.com on Sunday. Ricci will compete in LFA’s strawweight division. A date for her debut is currently unknown.
“Grind season,” wrote Ricci on her Instagram account. “Happy to be signed with this great organization.”
A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Ricci is a black belt in judo and a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. The 25-year-old is 2-0 in mixed martial arts but hasn’t competed since earning a decision against Graziele Ricotta at Brazilian Fighting Championship 4 on Oct. 4, 2014. In recent years she has competed primarily in grappling competitions, though she also fought muay Thai several years back.
LFA will begin holding events next month with a series of four cards on Fridays at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. That begins with LFA 84 on July 10.
