World Series of Fighting has added a lightweight contest between Brazilian veteran Jorge Patino and Floridian Eric Reynolds to the televised main card of next weekend’s WSOF 15.
Patino, 41, has experienced a late-career resurgence in recent years but suffered a setback in January, when he was punched out by Luis Palomino at WSOF 8. The former vale tudo fighter owns notable wins against the likes of Ronaldo Souza, Pete Spratt and Efrain Escudero. “Macaco” also serves as a manager to several fighters, including Kalindra Faria, who will challenge Jessica Aguilar for the WSOF women’s strawweight title on Nov. 15.
Reynolds, 28, will enter the cage just six weeks after suffering a knockout at the hands of Musa Khamanaev in Russia. The Bradenton, Fla., native is 2-2 in his last four outings, dropping fights to Khamanaev and Dom O’Grady, but scoring first-round finishes of Anton Kuivanen and Kevin Forant. Reynolds’ last bout on home soil ended in a submission loss to fellow WSOF lightweight Nick Newell.
