Brave Combat Federation’s final event of 2021 went down on Saturday night in Belgrade, Serbia.

Brave CF 56 was headlined by a lightweight clash between Ultimate Fighting Championship alum Rolando Dy and promotional newcomer Slobodan Maksimovic. Both fighters began Round 1 by attacking with a variety of calf kicks and head kicks. When Maksimovic attempted to move the action to the canvas, Dy (14-11-1, 1NC; 3-3, 1NC Brave) denied it. In the second frame, Maksimovic successfully landed his shots before his Filipino opponent landed a well-executed double-leg takedown. The Serbian returned to his feet quickly and went for a takedown of his own, which was quickly reversed by Dy.

The fighters spent half of Round 3 fighting against the fence until the referee separated them for inactivity. In the second half of the period, they traded blows in the center of the cage. The hardest shot belonged to Maksimovic, who also ended the fight on top of his opponent. When the dust settled, Maksimovic (18-6-1, 1-0 Brave) received 30-27, 29-28, and 29-28 tallies from the cageside judges for a unanimous decision triumph. In his post-fight interview, the Elevation Fight Team representative asked for the Serbian government's official recognition of mixed martial arts.

In the co-main event, Mikhail Allakhverdian earned a dominant unanimous verdict against Miro Jurkovic (11-5, 0-3 Brave) in his promotional debut. It took a few minutes for Allakhverdian (10-3, 1-0 Brave) to make Jurkovic’s face a bloody canvas thanks to relentless takedowns followed by ground-and-pound action. Jurkovic showed great heart in surviving the first frame and landed good shots in Round 2, including a reverse elbow, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Allakhverdian from dictating the pace and inflicting more damage. The third frame was an emphatic statement from Allakhverdian, who sealed his victory on the scorecards.

Elsewhere, Ahmed Labban (12-4, 3-0 Brave) handed Nemanja Kovac (13-6, 0-2 Brave) his third consecutive loss after tapping his opponent with a slick ninja choke at the 1:32 mark; at bantamweight, Borislav Nikolic (9-1, 1-1 Brave) defeated Matiss Zaharovs (4-2, 2-2 Brave) via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28) after a close affair; Jakob Nedoh (4-1, 1-0 Brave) smashed Zvonimir Kralj (7-5, 2-2 Brave) with a right-punch missile 50 seconds ingo their light heavyweight bout; Jovan Marjanovic (6-1, 1-0 Brave) put away Tomek Langowski (3-1-1, 0-1 Brave) with punches after 91 seconds in Brave’s 175-pound division; Abdullah Al-Qahtani (4-0, 3-0 Brave) stopped Nejc Preloznik (3-3, 0-1 Brave) with a body kick followed by a series of punches 63 seconds into the third frame of their featherweight affair; at welterweight, Nikolay Nikolov (4-0, 1-0 Brave) tapped Milos Cvetkovic (4-1, 0-1 Brave) with a rear-naked choke at the 2:10 mark of Round 2 and the event opened with Miljan Zdravkovic (3-0, 1-0 Brave) taking a unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28) over Ahmet Simsek (5-2, 0-1 Brave) in a bantamweight battle.
