Manel Kape vs. Alex Perez Targeted for UFC on ESPN 43 in San Antonio

A flyweight showdown between Manel Kape and Alex Perez is in the works for UFC on ESPN 43.

MMAFighting.com was first to report the booking. Perez was supposed to face Kai Kara France at UFC 284 before Kara France recently announced his withdrawal from the event due to injury. UFC on ESPN 43 takes place at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, and also includes a women’s bantamweight clash pitting Holly Holm against Yana Kunitskaya.

After losing his first two Octagon appearances, Kape has reeled off three consecutive triumphs within the Las Vegas-based promotion. Most recently, the former Rizin bantamweight king garnered a unanimous verdict over David Dvorak at UFC Fight Night 216.

Perez, meanwhile, is looking to halt a two-fight skid after falling to Alexandre Pantoja and Deiveson Figueiredo in his last two outings. The Team Oyama representative is 6-3 during his UFC tenure and is 24-7 as a professional overall.
