Manny Gamburyan Out; Alejandro Perez Now to face Albert Morales

The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced that Manny Gamburyan has withdrawn from his upcoming bout at UFC Fight Night “Poirier vs. Johnson” on Sept. 19 against Alejandro Perez due to personal reasons and has been replaced by Octagon newcomer Albert Morales.

After winning two straight, “The Anvil” lost to John Dodson at UFC on Fox 19 in April. The Armenian-born grappler was looking get back on the winning track against Perez, but he’ll have to wait a little longer in order to do so.

As for Perez, he has looked superb in his most recent outings. The Mexican is flying high after back-to-back stoppages, with his last one coming in April on the UFC Fight Night 86 card where he took out Ian Entwistle in the first courtesy of a volley of punches. The bantamweight is slowly inching up the contender ladder and he’ll have to now deal with Morales, who has yet to step foot inside the Octagon.

A resident of California, “The Warrior” has yet to lose in the pro ranks and has already racked up wins in the Resurrection Fighting Alliance, World Series of Fighting and Bellator MMA. He last fought in June where he knocked out Mario Israel with one punch in just 20 seconds and he looks to bring that firepower with him in his UFC debut.

UFC Fight Night 94 goes down at State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas and will be headlined by a lightweight battle between Dustin Poirier and Michael Johnson. The event will begin with a live stream on UFC Fight Pass, followed by the rest of the card on Fox Sports 1, though the exact bout order hasn’t been finalized.
