Polish outlet Lowking.pl was first to report the matchup late last week.
Hunt, 43, was knocked out in devastating fashion by fellow former K-1 World Grand Prix champion Alistair Overeem this past March, courtesy of a brutal series of knees. However, “The Super Samoan” rebounded in trademark, heavy-punching style by outlasting rising prospect Derrick Lewis at UFC Fight Night 110 this past June, recording a fourth-round knockout in front of partisan fans in his birthplace of Auckland, New Zealand.
Interestingly, the Tybura bout will be just the second MMA bout for Hunt in front of his adopted hometown fans in Sydney; Hunt knocked out Chris Tuchscherer at UFC 127 in “The Harbor City” back in February 2011.
T After compiling a 13-1 record prior to his UFC contract, Tybura underwhelmed in his May 2016 Octagon debut, dropping a lackluster unanimous decision to Timothy Johnson. Since, “Tybur” has found his stride in the cage, ripping off three wins in a row. After a head-kick knockout of Viktor Pesta last August and stopping Luis Henrique Barbosa de Oliveira in March, the 31-year-old earned the most notable win of his career this past June, taking a 15-minute verdict over former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski.
Hunt-Tybura is just the second official bout for UFC Fight Night 121, joining a previously confirmed heavyweight bout between Rashad Coulter and debuting Tai Tuivasa.
