Marlon Sandro Releases Statement Two Months After Allegedly Assaulting Fiancee
Marlon Sandro has broken his silence some two months after allegedly assaulting his fiancée in Brazil.

“I know I had my moment of mistake, I’m working on getting better and being a new man,” Sando wrote [translation via MMAFighting.com] “I quit drinking, that was one of the things that made me lose my temper. Every person has his belief and I don’t criticize them, every one searches for your spiritual balance, and mine is church. I live in the (favela), I could be in crime doing drugs, but it’s the opposite, I want to be a better human being.
“I know I can be better than I was. Want to judge me, fine, I accept all judgements,” he continued. “But what do you prefer? That I give myself up to drugs? Or that I try to fix what I did wrong? What would you do if you were in my position? Justice is being done in court. I only ask this chance to all promotions.”
A video also accompanies the post in which Sandro says he is unemployed and needs the opportunity to fight. The 40-year-old was kicked off the Nova Uniao team following news of the attack. Sandro is a veteran of 37 professional fights. He last competed at Shooto “Brazil 74” on Aug. 27, when he submitted Diego Arturo Huerto Jauregui in the opening stanza.
