Akira Corassani has a new opponent for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s return to Stockholm, as the promotion announced on Thursday that Max Holloway will face “The Ultimate Fighter 14” alum on Oct. 4.
The 22-year-old Holloway is fresh off a third-round TKO stoppage of Clay Collard at UFC Fight Night “Henderson vs. dos Anjos” this past Saturday. The Hawaiian is 3-0 in 2014, having also posted victories over Will Chope and Andre Fili.
Corassani bested Andy Ogle, Robbie Peralta and Maximo Blanco in his first three Octagon appearances before falling to Dustin Poirier via second-round TKO at the “TUF: Nations” finale in April. The 32-year-old Swede is 12-4-1 as a pro and has gone the distance in seven of those triumphs.
