Holloway was part of the card back in April for UFC 223 when McGregor and a group of men stormed the basement of the Barclays Center in the lead up to the event.
The Irishman picked up a loading dolly and threw it at the window
of the bus containing the fighters in the blue corner (Holloway was
in the red corner) shattering the glass and injuring fighters
Michael
Chiesa and Ray Borg
forcing them off the card.
The bus attack by McGregor was allegedly in retaliation to McGregor’s teammate Artem Lobov being confronted by Khabib Nurmagomedov in the hotel lobby days before.
Holloway and McGregor previously fought during the early days of their UFC careers back in August 2013 when McGregor won the fight via unanimous decision.
The defeat to McGregor was the last time someone bested Holloway and “Blessed” is currently riding a 12-fight winning streak on his way to capturing the featherweight title McGregor held briefly.
While McGregor is unlikely to ever move back down to the featherweight division because of the brutal weight cut, Holloway has hinted recently that his move to McGregor’s preferred weight class of 155 pounds is “only a matter of time.”
TMZ reporters asked Holloway what his thoughts were on McGregor and the legal issues he’s facing and the Hawaiian had nothing but nice things to say (via MMAMania.com):
“Conor’s got some serious stuff going on and I wish nothing but the best for the guy. I feel bad for the guy right now with his legal issues and I hope everything goes good for him. As a family man to a family man, I hope everything turns out good for him.”
