‘Mayhem’ Miller Apologizes for Recent Actions, Expresses Confidence in ‘Sanity and Sobriety’

It’s been a while since Jason Miller was active on any social media platform, but it appears that things could be changing for the better for the troubled former fighter known as “Mayhem.”

The UFC and Strikeforce veteran on Wednesday issued a statement via Facebook where he apologized for his run-ins with the law that have occurred frequently over the past few years. Miller admits “that I wasn’t in the right state of mind for a very long time,” but he adds that he is currently “confident of my sanity and my sobriety.”

Miller’s full statement is as follows:

It’s been a long time since I’ve ventured onto the information superhighway called the internet, and the last time I was here it was a very different place, and I was a very different person.

It goes without saying that I was acting like a madman for a good stretch of my post fight life, and I can’t make excuses for my behavior. I can, however, explain that I wasn’t in the right state of mind for a very long time, as evidenced by my constant war with law enforcement, destruction of public property, domestic disturbances and evading, but eventually I was caught, and forced to take a long, long look in the mirror. I’d like to take this opportunity to apologize to everyone that I negatively affected during the dark times, including friends, family, law enforcement and the kalt, whom I have abandoned for far too long. I’m sorry.

What I came to realize was that the choices I was making were not ones that could produce the type of lifestyle that I want to live. Some refer to it as “growing up,” but I prefer the term “evolution.”

I’d like all of you to reserve judgement on myself and everyone involved with the ongoing drama until things are settled. To be certain, there are many unanswered questions in my life, but the reason I am confident to reemerge into the light of public sphere is that I am confident of my sanity and sobriety. Somewhere in the last couple of years, I figured out that you can’t live like a rock star anarchist for too long without being killed or landing for a long stretch in prison. Luckily I have avoided either fate, and have emerged on the other side of a humbling journey, ready to make Mayhem great again, and be of service to my fellow man.

I thank you all for your continued support and look forward to making the future with you all. God Bless!

Miller has had several altercations with law enforcement in recent years, including a 2014 incident in which he barricaded himself inside his house when police arrived to serve an arrest warrant for an alleged stalking. He was taken into custody after a live tweeting a SWAT standoff.

The following year, Miller was arrested for kicking and spitting at police officers after an incident at a restaurant in Laguna Beach, Calif. And in 2016, the 36-year-old fighter was arrested for spitting on a police officer following an argument with two females at a restaurant in Costa Mesa, Calif. In February 2018, a jury acquitted Miller of domestic violence charges stemming from an alleged assault of his ex-girlfriend at his Mission Viejo home in 2013.

Last October, Miller was arrested on a felony vandalism charge that left him in violation of his parole. In April 2018, the former “Bully Beatdown” host accepted a four-year suspended sentence for multiple domestic violence charges; that deal also included three years’ probation for domestic violence incidents with three different women.

After a four-year hiatus from the sport, Miller made his MMA return at a Venator Fighting Championship event on May 21, 2016. After missing weight by 24 pounds, “Mayhem” was submitted in the second round by Mattia Schiavolin. The UFC, Strikeforce and Dream veteran owns a 23-10 career record that includes victories over the likes of Tim Kennedy, Robbie Lawler and Denis Kang.
