It appears that Michael Bisping will return to the Octagon just three weeks after losing his middleweight title at UFC 217.
According to multiple outlets, Bisping has agreed to face Kelvin Gastelum in the UFC Fight Night 122 headliner in Shanghai on Nov. 25. MMAFighting.com was the first to report the news. Gastelum needed a new opponent after Anderson Silva was flagged for a potential anti-doping violation on Friday.
Bisping was submitted by a Georges St. Pierre rear-naked choke in the third round of their headlining bout on Nov. 4 at Madison Square Garden. That ended a five-bout winning streak for “The Count,” who claimed the 185-pound throne with a win against Luke Rockhold and defended it once in a decision win over Dan Henderson.
Gastelum last appeared at UFC on Fox 25, where he tapped to an arm-triangle choke in the third stanza against Chris Weidman.
UFC Fight Night 122 takes place at Mercedes-Benz Arena and will stream in its entirety on UFC Fight Pass.
