Michael Johnson, Andre Fili Added to UFC Lincoln Main Card

Ultimate Fighting Championship officials have added another fight on the UFC Fight Night 135 card, which takes place inside the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Aug. 25.

Michael Johnson will do battle with Andre Fili in a featherweight bout (via Journal Star).

Johnson is in a slump with only one win in his last six fights, with the lone victory coming via a brutal first-round knockout over Dustin Poirier in September 2016. In those six losses, Johnson has been finished by current lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, and Darren Elkins.

Team Alpha Male’s Fili is currently riding a two-fight winning streak with decision victories over Artem Lobov and Dennis Bermudez.

The pair will make up the UFC Lincoln card, which has a new headlining bout when yesterday it was announced that Justin Gaethje will face off with James Vick. Vick accepted the fight after Gaethje’s original opponent, Al Iaquinta, withdrew for undisclosed reasons. The card is starting to gather momentum and also features an exciting women’s strawweight bout between Alexa Grasso and Angela Hill, as well as a flyweight battle between John Moraga and Deiveson Figueiredo.
