Michael Johnson to Face Thiago Moises at UFC Fight Night 171 on May 13

Michael Johnson will lock horns with Thiago Moises in a lightweight bout at UFC Fight Night 171 on May 13.

Combate was first to report the booking. UFC Fight Night 171 takes place at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, and is headlined by a light heavyweight tilt pitting Anthony Smith against Glover Teixeira. The card is expected to air on ESPN and ESPN+.

Johnson went 0-2 in 2019, falling to Josh Emmett via third-round knockout at UFC on ESPN 2 and to Steven Ray by majority decision at UFC Fight Night 162. “The Menace” returned to 155 pounds against Ray following a 2-2 stint as a featherweight.

A former Legacy Fighting Alliance champion and Dana White’s Contender Series alum, Moises has lost two of his first three Octagon appearances. Most recently, the 25-year-old American Top Team representative dropped a unanimous verdict against Damir Ismagulov at UFC Fight Night 157 on Aug. 31.
