Michael McDonald Needs Hand Surgery Following Bellator 202 Knockout Win
Michael McDonald was hopeful he could avoid hand surgery following his resounding knockout win over Eduardo Dantas at Bellator 202. It looks like that won’t be the case.
“Mayday” offered an update on his broken hand via social media on
Tuesday, and the prognosis could call for a lengthy recovery.
McDonald broke his left hand in a 58-second triumph over Dantas on
July 13 and was initially optimistic the injury could heal on its
own.
McDonald will undergo surgery on Aug. 30, but the former UFC talent warns that it could only be the first step.

McDonald has gone 2-0 under the Bellator banner since leaving the UFC, posting wins over Dantas and Peter Ligier. The 27-year-old went 6-3 in the UFC and is 19-4 as a professional overall.
