Unbeaten prospect Michael Page and surging welterweight Fernando Gonzalez are set to collide in March, Bellator MMA officials announced on Monday.
Page, 28, carries a perfect MMA record of 9-0 and has finished all but one opponent inside the first round. 2015 saw “MVP” pick up a pair of wins inside the Bellator cage, most recently smashing Charlie Ontiveros with a barrage of elbows in their October encounter. Gonzalez could be the toughest opponent to date for the hard-hitting Englishman, who has been given a steady build by promoters.
Gonzalez, 32, is currently riding the hottest streak of his 12-year MMA career, having reeled off four straight Bellator wins against the likes of Marius Zaromskis, Karo Parisyan and Karl Amoussou. The Californian was last seen in September, when he dropped a decision to Paul Daley in a kickboxing bout at Bellator “Dynamite.”
