"I am excited to bring LFA to the Upper Midwest on back-to-back Fridays in February," said LFA CEO Ed Soares. "Iowa and Minnesota have a long history in MMA and wrestling so it has one of the most educated and passionate fan bases in the country. We came to Iowa as RFA in October 2013 and have had a long history of exciting events in Minnesota. We look forward to developing the next generation of stars in this talent-rich region in February at LFA 60 and LFA 61.”
Allen will be making his first title defense against Murrietta at LFA 60. The Roufusport product claimed 185-pound gold with a third-round submission of Tim Hiley at LFA 50 this past September. “All In” is 10-3 over the course of his pro career, with all of his victories coming inside the distance.
Murrietta, meanwhile, enters the matchup on a three-fight KO/TKO streak. Most recently, “Motown” knocked out Sidiah Parker in the second stanza at LFA 54 on Nov. 16. The 29-year-old also has competed for Bellator MMA and M-1 Challenge during his professional tenure.
