Mike Santiago vs. Dan Ige Added to UFC 225 Lineup in Chicago on June 9
A featherweight showdown between Mike Santiago and Dan Ige has been added to the UFC 225 bill.
The Las Vegas-based promotion recently announced the matchup. UFC
225 takes place at the United Center in Chicago on June 9 and is
headlined by a middleweight championship bout between Robert
Whittaker and Yoel
Romero.
Santiago got his start in the Octagon thanks to a first-round knockout of Mark Cherico on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series 7 on Aug. 22. The 28-year-old Illinois native is still looking for his first promotional triumph after falling to Zabit Magomedsharipov and Mads Burneel in his first two appearances.
Ige, meanwhile, got his opportunity on the basis of a submission of Luis Gomez on the third edition of the Contender Series. He made his Octagon debut at UFC 220, where he dropped a unanimous decision to Julio Arce.
