Mike Thomas Brown is looking to bounce back from a 50-second knockout. | Sherdog.com
Former World Extreme Cagefighting champion Mike Thomas Brown will step in for an injured Sean Soriano to face Estevan Payan at UFC on Fox 11.
Brown, 38, last competed on Aug. 17, when Steven Siler snapped his two-fight winning streak in a 50-second knockout. Prior to that UFC Fight Night 26 defeat, Brown posted consecutive victories over Nam Phan and Daniel Pineda, scoring a unanimous decision over Phan in 2011 before doing the same to the former Legacy Fighting Championship titlist the following year.
Payan, 31, had not lost since 2009 prior to his meeting with Jeremy Stephens last May. Another setback would then follow for “El Terrible,” who suffered a third-round technical knockout to Robbie Peralta in a hard-fought UFC 168 confrontation.
