Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has pulled out of a proposed lightweight battle with Ilir Latifi at UFC Fight Night 112.

Latifi initially announced Nogueira’s withdrawal via Twitter. “Minotouro” later confirmed with MMAFighting.com that he suffered a neck injury during training. The UFC has yet to confirm Nogueira’s exit from the card.

Nogueira competed twice in 2016, the first time he has made two Octagon appearances in a calendar year since 2011. The 40-year-old Pride Fighting Championships veteran garnered a first-round TKO triumph over Patrick Cummins at UFC 198 before being stopped in the third-round by Ryan Bader at UFC Fight Night 100.

While there is currently no news of a replacement opponent for Latifi, the 33-year-old Swede has already expressed interest in a bout against Corey Anderson. Latifi had a three-fight winning streak halted in his last outing, as he suffered a second-round knockout loss to Bader at UFC Fight Night 93.

UFC Fight Night 112 takes place at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City on June 25 and is headlined by a lightweight clash between Michael Chiesa and Kevin Lee. The evening’s main card will be televised on Fox Sports 1.
