UFC middleweight Kevin Casey has been suspended for one year and fined $5,600 following a positive drug test at UFC 175.
Speaking over the phone to the NAC on Tuesday, Casey offered no excuses for the failed test.
“There’s no excuse for my actions. It’s been a great embarrassment for my family, my training camp and the UFC organization,” Casey said. “When my management got the call from the UFC, I knew that I had to get back on weight as soon as possible.”
In addition to the monetary fine and suspension, the NAC also changed Casey’s win over Bush to a no-contest.
