The Nevada Athletic Commission has selected Robert Bennett to serve as its new executive director.
The position of executive director became available in January when Keith Kizer resigned from his post. Kizer succeeded current UFC official Marc Ratner and took over executive director duties in 2006 after previously serving in the attorney general’s office beginning in 2001.
Martino is an inspector for the NAC and the previously headed USA Boxing from 2009 to 2010. Mullen, meanwhile, is the executive director of the Tennessee Athletic Commission and also served as a Nevada judge from 1999 to 2009.
Andy Foster, the executive Director of the California State Athletic Commission, was also initially named a finalist by the NAC, but Foster withdrew his name from the field of applicants on Thursday. Foster previously served in the same capacity with the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission before filling the void left by George Dodd’s departure from the CSAC in 2012.
