Dalby (17-3-1, 1 NC) recently announced he had re-signed with the UFC after a five-fight stint in Cage Warriors Fighting Championship. Now, his first fight is booked as he will take on Alex Oliveira (19-7-1, 2 NC) at UFC Fight Night 160, the promotion announced on Friday.
In his first stretch inside the Octagon, Dalby went 1-2-1 with a win over Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos and a draw against Darren Till, but back-to-back losses to Zak Cummings and Peter Sobotta sealed his fate. "Lokomotivo" then joined Cage Warriors, where he won the interim welterweight belt. He went 3-1 and one no-contest in the promotion, where his last fight against Ross Houston ended due to the canvas being unsafe to fight on due to the amount of blood.
Oliveira, meanwhile, is on a two-fight losing streak after being submitted by Gunnar Nelson at UFC 231 and most recently, dropping a decision to Mike Perry at UFC Fight Night 150 in April.
"Cowboy" and Dalby share a common opponent in Carlo Pedersoli Jr., as Oliveira knocked him out in 39 seconds, while "Lokomotivo" lost by split-decision.
UFC Fight Night 160 goes down on Sept. 28 from Copenhagen, Denmark, where Jack Hermansson will take on Jared Cannonier in the main event.
