That defeat comes on the heels of setbacks to Gilbert
Burns and Alexander
Hernandez. Following his latest loss, “The Canadian Gangster”
took to Instagram to release a statement on the fight.
Aubin-Mercier admitted that his future in the Las Vegas-based
promotion is uncertain, but even his release would not spell the
end of his career.
“The only thing I know is that I’m not done,” he wrote. “I will be
back.”
Aubin-Mercier is still a fan favorite in Canada, but whether or not
he gets another UFC fight is to be seen. “The Canadian Gangster”
had a ton of success early on his UFC career with victories in
seven of his first nine bouts but has been outmatched in his last
three fights.
