One Fighting Championship will have to wait to crown its first welterweight champion, as a rib injury suffered in training has forced Adam Shahir Kayoom to withdraw from a title bout against Nobutatsu Suzuki at One FC 12.

Instead, Vitor Pinto will square off with Suzuki in a non-title affair on Nov. 15, the promotion announced Sunday.

One FC 12 “Warrior Spirit” takes place at Putra Indoor Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and includes a flyweight bout between Adrian Moraes and Yusup Saadulaev. A heavyweight bout pitting Tony Johnson against Chris Lokteff has also been added to the bill. The evening’s main card can be viewed online at onefc.livesport.tv for $9.99, while the prelims will stream live and free on Sherdog.com.

Pinto is unbeaten is seven professional bouts, with two wins by technical knockout, two by submission and three via decision. The Portuguese welterweight last competed in October, submitting Renato de Paula Amaral da Costa by rear-naked choke in the opening round at Acores MMA 1.

Suzuki made his promotional debut in May, stopping UFC veteran Phil Baroni with punches 4:13 into the first frame at One FC 9. The 36-year-old Japanese talent has competed primarily under the Zst banner during his professional career and has earned all 10 of his victories by knockout or technical knockout.
