Ortiz Replaces Top Flyweight McCall, Faces Rave at Friday’s TPF 11

Josh Rave has a new opponent for Tachi Palace Fights 11, as Dustin Ortiz will step in for injured promotional flyweight champion Ian McCall on Friday’s card.

Tachi Palace Entertainment Coordinator Jeremy Luchau informed Sherdog.com of the change via text message on Monday afternoon. The bout will take place at 126 pounds.

Ortiz (Pictured), a Nashville MMA product, suffered the first loss of his professional career in a unanimous decision to McCall at TPF 9 in May. Prior to that setback, the two-time Strikeforce veteran was unbeaten in seven contests, with all of his victories coming via technical knockout or submission.

Rave, a native of Omaha, Neb., has won his last two fights, taking a TKO victory over Mike Powell in April and a unanimous decision triumph against Lewis McKenzie in August.

Emanating from the Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino in Lemoore, Calif., TPF 11 is headlined by a featherweight title tilt between Bellator veteran Georgi Karakhanyan and Isaac DeJesus. The co-main event pits Cody Gibson against Ulysses Gomez in a bantamweight championship clash. The card streams live on Sherdog.com.
