The promotion announced on Tuesday that five former champions and four finalists from the inaugural season will be returning to the roster in 2019. The five champions are Lance Palmer (featherweight), Natan Schulte (lightweight), Magomed Magomedkerimov (welterweight), Philipe Lins (heavyweight) and Louis Taylor (middleweight). Taylor will be moving to 170 pounds for the upcoming season, as there will be no PFL middleweight division. The light heavyweight champion, Sean O’Connell, retired following his win over Vinny Magalhaes.

Meanwhile, finalists Steven Siler (featherweight), Ray Cooper III (welterweight), Rashid Magomedov (lightweight) and Vinny Magalhaes (light heavyweight) will also be returning to the PFL roster.

The PFL is adding a women’s lightweight division, which will include Olympic gold medalist Kayla Harrison, in place of the 185-pound weight class. The roster for the female lightweights is expected to be announced Friday.

The competitors in the six PFL divisions compete in a regular-season format over the course of six events from May through August. Three playoff events in October will follow, with champions being crowned in each weight class on New Year’s Eve. The winner of each PFL Championship bout will receive a $1 million prize.

The PFL recently signed a deal to air all 10 of its 2019 fight cards on ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+.
