While the two have since traded multiple barbs over the years, they weren’t on a collision course until recently. There have been talks of a potential future clash between the two after “El Matador” vacated his featherweight title and moved up to lightweight. Pimblett even recently said that he wants to fight Topuria and that “hand sanitizer boy” doesn’t deserve an immediate lightweight title shot.
However, they now appear to have buried the hatchet. Pimblett and Topuria came across each other yet again ahead of UFC London, which goes down at the O2 Arena on Saturday. Pimblett was there to support teammates Molly McCann and Nathan Fletcher, while Topuria was with teammate Guram Kutateladze. Pimblett and Topuria were seen fist bumping each other at the ceremonial weigh-ins, marking an end to their dispute. Pimblett even shared a clip of the same with the caption: “The fist bump heard round the world.”
Pimblett will co-headline UFC 314 opposite Michael Chandler on April 12 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. Meanwhile, UFC CEO Dana White has promised some fight news for Topuria in the coming weeks.
