Paul Craig Replaces Sam Alvey, Meets ‘Shogun’ Rua in UFC Sao Paulo Co-Main

Paul Craig will replace the injured Sam Alvey and meet Mauricio Rua at UFC Fight Night 164 in Sao Paulo.

The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the new light heavyweight bout on Tuesday. UFC Fight Night 164 takes place at Ibriapuera Gymnasium on Nov. 16 and is headlined by a light heavyweight showdown between Jan Blachowicz and Ronaldo Souza.

Craig has won two of his last three Octagon appearances, including a first-round submission of Vinicius Moreira Castro in his last outing at UFC Fight Night 159. The 31-year-old Scot has finished all four of his UFC wins by submission and 11 of his 12 career professional triumphs overall.

Rua has won four of his last five within the Las Vegas-based promotion. Most recently, “Shogun” stopped Tyson Pedro via third-round technical knockout at UFC Fight Night 142 this past December.
