Paulo Costa vs. Roman Kopylov Rebooked for UFC 318
A scheduled middleweight fight between Paulo Costa (14-4) and Roman Kopylov (14-3) has been postponed.
Costa and Kopylov were originally scheduled to fight at UFC 317 on June 28 in Las Vegas. However, Costa reportedly pulled out due to a virus. The fight has now been shifted to UFC 318 on July 19 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans. Multiple outlets confirmed the change following an initial report from Laerte Viana.
Costa has won only once in his last five outings, besting Luke Rockhold at UFC 278 in August 2022. However, “Borrachinha” has only lost to elite competition, falling to the likes of Sean Strickland, Robert Whittaker, Marvin Vettori and Israel Adesanya during his current slump.
Meanwhile, Kopylov has lost once in seven outings after dropping his first two UFC bouts. The 33-year-old is riding a two-fight winning streak heading into the matchup with Costa.
