CES MMA, new England’s biggest fight promotion, announced Friday afternoon that Pedro Gonzalez will meet fellow featherweight Bruno Dias next month. The two will collide in the main event of CES 43, which goes down April 15 at North Shore Music Theatre in Beverly, Mass.
The card will not be televised on AXS TV, which is usually the norm for CES MMA events.
Gonzalez, who is enjoying a four-fight stoppage streak going into his CES 43 battle, is eager to fight in front of his hometown fans.
“The atmosphere was crazy the last time we fought at North Shore Music Theatre, and this won’t be any different,” said Gonzalez, who represents Redline Fight Team. “Last time I got the finish in the main event, and I’m going to do everything I can to make it five straight stoppages on April 15.”
Dias has fought primarily in his native Brazil, but his last two bouts have been overseas in Russia. The Team Juniko standout is pumped for the fight, which will mark his U.S. debut.
“I left my family, friends and students to chase a dream,” the jiu-jitsu black belt said. “This will be the first step to become CES champ and get that belt. Fans can expect a war. I will dominate in a minute or be in a war for three rounds. But I will fight to give a show and win. I wanna show that I will be the future CES champ.”
The promotion also announced on Friday that local standouts Lewis Corapi, Rico DiSciullo and Mike Rodriguez will also compete on the card, though their opponents have not been revealed.
