RFA 45 will go down on Oct. 28 at the Mystic Showroom at Mystic Lake Hotel Casino in Mystic Lake, Minn. AXS TV will televise the action live beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
Meerschaert is set for his RFA debut riding a hot streak. He’s
scored four consecutive stoppages and has won eight of his last
nine overall, with only one bout going the distance. The only loss
during that span for the Valor Fights and Titan FC veteran was a
decision loss to Sam Alvey, who
has won two straight in the UFC.
“I’m the best middleweight prospect in the world,” Meerschaert said. “Getting that RFA belt wrapped around my waist on Oct. 28 is just the beginning.”
Waldon has been even hotter lately, having won nine in a row. After scoring two stoppages under the Legacy FC banner, he had a successful RFA debut at RFA 40 where he torched James Heidlage with one punch, ending their fight in just 15 seconds.
“I’m excited to be back at Mystic Lake and to fight for the RFA title in front of all my friends and family,” Waldon said. “I’m looking forward to upping the competition against another top guy. Defeating a game opponent like Meerschaert for the RFA title will make it that much better.”
Barcelos is looking to set a record for the most title defenses in RFA history when he takes on Moret in the co-feature. The Brazilian has lost only once in 11 pro fights and he’s won four of his last five in RFA. Moret, meanwhile, has won his last four and five of six overall.
Also slated for RFA 45 will be the return of University of Minnesota wrestling great Logan Storley. A full undercard will be announced in the coming weeks.
