Report: Ashlee Evans-Smith Out, Ariane Carnelossi In Against Taila Santos at UFC Uruguay

UFC Fight Night 156 has taken a hit as Ashlee Evans-Smith has been forced to withdraw from her flyweight bout against Taila Santos on August 10 in Montevideo, Uruguay. Her reason for withdrawing has not yet been disclosed. Stepping in will be Brazilian Ariane Carnelossi. The news was first reported by A Dama de Ferro.

Carnelossi is 12-1 with eight of those wins coming by knockout. She last fought back in May at Future FC where she knocked out Ketlen Souza in the third round. "Sorriso" is riding a 12-fight winning streak heading into her Octagon debut.

Santos (15-1), meanwhile, is coming off of the first loss of her career back in February, where she lost to Mara Romero Borella by split decision in her UFC debut. The 26-year-old was signed off of Dana White's Contender Series: Brazil back in August of last year.

UFC Uruguay is set to take place on August 10, with the women's flyweight title on the line as Valentina Shevchenko looks to defend her title against Liz Carmouche in the main event.
