According to Combate on Friday, Wisely (32-9-1) will face Burns (14-3) at lightweight, at UFC on ESPN 3 on April 27 at the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Wisely competed twice under the UFC banner in 2012, losing his debut to Charles Oliveira by the first calf slicer submission in UFC history. After that loss, he dropped a decision to Jason Young and was released from the promotion. Since then, he competed 15 times with stellar results, winning 13 and earning a draw. The only bout he lost in that span came at the hands of John Alessio by decision at Bellator 119 in 2014.

The 2011 World Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gold medalist Burns won his most recent bout when he took a decision over Olivier Aubin-Mercier at UFC 231 last December. Although he made his promotional debut at welterweight, his remaining nine bouts in the UFC have taken place at the lightweight division. Burns also became the first fighter to ever stop the durable Canadian Jason Saggo, when he knocked out Saggo with a single punch at UFC Fight Night 116 in 2017.

UFC on ESPN 3 will take place on April 27 at the BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Headlining the card will be a middleweight rematch between Yoel Romero and Ronaldo Souza. The co-main event will be a heavyweight battle between Greg Hardy and Dmitry Smoliakov.
