Forrest
Griffin has withdrawn from a co-headlining light heavyweight
contest against Antonio
Rogerio Nogueira at UFC
114 on May 29 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
TMZ.com was the first to report that the former UFC light heavyweight champion has bowed out with a shoulder injury and Sherdog.com has confirmed it independently. A replacement has not been announced yet.
Rogerio, the twin brother of UFC heavyweight Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, had an impressive Octagon debut at UFC 106 last November in Las Vegas, boxing out a first-round stoppage over Luis Arthur Cane.
Former 205-pound titleholders Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Rashad Evans meet in the main event, after their stints as rival coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter 10” last year.
