A pivotal women’s flyweight bout is heading to Abu Dhabi.
Calderwood is coming off a decision loss to Katlyn Chookagian at UFC 238 that snapped her two-fight winning streak. Had she won that fight, the expectation was that she would be fighting for the title next. The loss also was her first at flyweight in the UFC. Before the defeat, the 32-year-old beat Kalindra Faria and Ariane Lipski.
Lee, meanwhile, is on a seven-fight winning streak, which includes being 3-0 in the UFC. There, she beat Veronia Macedo in her debut, and then Ashlee Evans-Smith and most recently Montana De La Rosa by decision at UFC Greenville. The 30-year-old is a former Legacy Fighting Alliance women’s flyweight champion.
UFC 242 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier.
