According to an unconfirmed report by the Orlando Sentinel, “The Ultimate Fighter” Season 21 winner Kamaru Usman will take on Leon Edwards in a welterweight clash at UFC on Fox 17 on Dec. 19.
The 27-year-old Usman captured the “TUF 21” title with a second-round submission of Hayder Hassan on July 12. The Blackzilians product has a 6-1 professional record.
Edwards (10-2), will enter the contest on a two-fight winning streak. The 24-year-old is 2-1 in the UFC, with wins against Seth Baczynski and Pawel Pawlak. The British welterweight’s lone Octagon loss came against Claudio Henrique da Silva in his Octagon debut.
UFC on Fox 17 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight, as champion Rafael dos Anjos rematches Donald Cerrone. Dos Anjos defeated Cerrone via decision in August of 2013.
