Riddle-‘Beicao’ Ticketed for UFC 141 on Dec. 30
UFC officials Tuesday announced that a welterweight contest between
Matt
Riddle and Luis Ramos
(pictured) has been added to the UFC
141 bill.
Headlined by a blockbuster heavyweight confrontation pitting former UFC champion Brock Lesnar against onetime Strikeforce king Alistair Overeem, UFC 141 takes place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Slated for Dec. 30, the show will also feature a 170-pound clash between Johny Hendricks and Jon Fitch.
Riddle, 25, has fought the entirety of his pro career in the UFC. After posting three-straight decision victories, Riddle was handed his first career loss by Nick Osipczak in 2009.
He would rebound with two wins in the following year, but Riddle closed out 2010 with a bloody decision defeat at the hands of Sean Pierson. Most recently, the Pennsylvanian was outpointed in another hard-fought contest with newcomer Lance Benoist at Fight Night 25 in September.
Ramos recently had a three-fight winning streak snapped by countryman Erick Silva at UFC 134 in August. The Shooto South American champion was knocked out by his Jungle Fight champion counterpart in just 40 seconds, marking only the second time that he had been finished in his decade as a professional. Representing Nova Uniao, Beicao owns 11 of his 18 career wins by decision.
