Rizin 14 Weigh-in Results: Kyoji Horiguchi, Darrion Caldwell Cleared for Championship Clash

Rizin bantamweight grand prix victor Kyoji Horiguchi looks to make it 11 wins in a row when he takes on Bellator bantamweight champion Darrion Caldwell at Rizin 14.

Horiguchi, who weighed in at 134 pounds, will vie for the inaugural RIZIN FF bantamweight title against Bellator MMA 135-pound champion Caldwell (134) at Rizin 14 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Meanwhile, the promotion’s first women’s super atomweight title is also on the line, as Rizin women’s super atomweight Grand Prix winner Kanna Asakura (107) faces former Invicta Fighting Championships atomweight queen Ayaka Hamasaki (108). All four title participants made weight without issue..

Rizin 14, which airs live on Fite.TV today at 1 a.m. ET/10 p.m. PT, also features a light heavyweight showdown between Rizin regular Jiri Prochazka (205) and former Bellator middleweight champion Brandon Halsey (205). Also, Brazilian grappling ace and largest competitor on the card Gabi Garcia (225) looks to extend her unbeaten MMA run to six when she meets the debuting Brazilian kickboxer Barbara Nepomuceno (204) in an open-weight contest.

The last match of the evening, which pits Floyd Mayweather Jr. (147) vs. Tenshin Nasukawa (137) in a special boxing rules exhibition match, will not be broadcast to North America or Japan on Fite.TV.

One fighter was unable to weigh in: Rena Kubota, due to illness from the weight cut, and it has not yet been decided if the match will still go on.

Meanwhile, Rizin Heisei’s Last Yarennoka! will have a delayed broadcast on Fite.TV after Rizin 14 ends. The main event of that shortened card pits former Shooto champion Tatsuya Kawajiri (153) against the nearly 70-fight veteran Satoru Kitaoka (154).
