Showtime Boxing returns on Saturday with a WBA lightweight title clash between Robert Easter Jr. and Rances Barthelemy.
The bout will be for the currently vacant WBA world lightweight title. However, that isn't quite as prestigious as it sounds since Vasiliy Lomachenko holds the WBA super world lightweight championship.
Easter Jr. (21-1, 14 KOs) will look to rebound from the first loss in his career, which came against current IBF and WBC lightweight titleholder Mikey Garcia. He enters the bout as a sizable favorite at -600 odds. Easter Jr. looked great on the scale and weighed in at 133.8 pounds.
Meanwhile, Barthelemy (27-1, 1 NC, 14 KOs) is coming off a TKO win over Robert Frankel and splitting a pair of bouts with WBA super lightweight titleholder Kiryl Relikh. A former IBF titleholder, he'll look to wear championship gold once again. He hit the scales at a healthy 135 pounds on the dot.
The action goes live tomorrow on Showtime at 10 p.m. ET.
