Roman Bogatov has been released from the Ultimate Fighting Championship after just one appearance with the Las Vegas-based promotion.
Tass was first to report the news. Bogatov dropped a unanimous verdict to Leonardo Santos in his Octagon debut at UFC 251 on July 11 in Abu Dhabi. Bogatov twice nailed his opponent with low blows before receiving a two-point deduction from referee Marc Goddard for an illegal knee.
Bogatov would go on to lose the fight by a trio of 29-26 tallies on the judges’ scorecards, his first defeat in 11 professional bouts. The 29-year-old Russian was a former lightweight champion in the M-1 Global organization.
