UFC and Strikeforce veteran Ryan Couture will make his Bellator MMA debut on Sept. 12 when he takes on John Schulz in a featured lightweight clash.

The promotion unveiled the finalized Bellator 124 lineup on Friday. In addition to Couture-Schulz, a bantamweight tilt between L.C. Davis and Zeilton Rodrigues will round out the Spike TV-televised portion of card. Bellator 124 takes place at the Compuware Arena in Plymouth Township, Mich., and is headlined by a light heavyweight title bout between Emanuel Newton and Joey Beltran.

Couture, 31, compiled a 6-1 mark in the now-defunct Strikeforce promotion before signing with the UFC. He lost consecutive bouts to Ross Pearson and Al Iaquinta in the Octagon before receiving his release. Most recently, Couture has posted victories over Kyle Sjafiroeddin and Shakir McKillip on the regional circuit.

A native of Bay City, Mich., Schulz is 1-1 with Bellator, suffering a rear-naked choke defeat against Amir Khillah in his last promotional appearance in January 2013. Most recently, “The Machine” handed Anthony Smith his 11th loss in 12 pro outings at Triple X Cagefighting “Legends 2” this past October.

An IFL, Affliction and WEC veteran, Davis has been victorious in four of his last five professional appearances. Rodrigues, who trains with the renowned Nova Uniao camp, will make his Bellator debut riding a six-fight winning streak.
