Bellator president Scott Coker announced the change on Monday. Bellator 232 takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., on Saturday and is headlined by the welterweight grand prix final between reigning champion Rory MacDonald and Douglas Lima. Daley vs. Awad will be contested at a 175-pound catchweight.
While Awad has competed primarily at lightweight during his Bellator tenure, he has also made a couple of appearances at 170 pounds, besting Evangelista Santos while losing to Brennan Ward. The 36-year-old Milennia MMA representative enters the matchup with Daley on a three-bout skid, which includes a first-round submission defeat to Goiti Yamauchi in his most recent appearance at Bellator 229.
Daley, meanwhile, halted a two-fight skid with a unanimous verdict over Erick Silva at Bellator 223 this past June.
