Sean Brady Explains Dislike for Leon Edwards

Sean Brady didn’t like Leon Edwards’ attitude before and after their UFC London fight.

Brady and Edwards headlined UFC Fight Night 255 at the O2 Arena in London last weekend. Brady mostly ragdolled Edwards before submitting the Englishman in front of his home fans in the fourth round.

Brady recently revealed that he didn’t appreciate Edwards’ behavior in the lead-up to the fight. Brady claims Edwards initially made fun of his height during their first face off, which he took in good humor. However, he didn’t like Edwards’ team chiming in shortly thereafter. While Brady is not one talk much trash, he was ready to go at it with “Rocky” from that point onward.

“He was like, ‘How tall are you? 5-8, 5-9?’ He was being a d—khead. And I was like, ‘Oh I’m 5-9.’ I was like, ‘What are you, 6-2? You got those big shoes on.’ Just making a joke of it. And we face off for legit five seconds,” Brady said on “The Ariel Helwani Show.”

I don’t know if it’s his manager or brother and him, they were like, ‘This is super awkward.’ They said some stupid ass s--t… From there on I was like, ‘I’m not touching this dude’s hands. If I see him trying stupid s--t at the weigh-ins, I’m gonna get it right back to this motherf---er… Personally, f--k Leon. F--k him and his whole team. That's how I feel about the whole situation.”

Brady’s dislike for Edwards only increased following their fight. Edwards brushed Brady off as the Philadelphia native went to exchange some customary pleasantries. While Brady understands that Edwards was upset, he didn’t like the former champ’s corner’s attitude.

“I went up to him like, ‘Yo man you’re a great champion, blah blah blah.’ He kind of like brushed me off,” Brady said. “Obviously he is upset, but even his whole team. I tried to say something, and they were corny as shit too. It was just whack. My coaches didn’t even go over there… He is just salty… I wish I was even meaner to this dude… Maybe Belal was right about him. He’s all butthurt about all kinds of s--t.”

Brady’s lone professional loss came against current champ Belal Muhammad via submission in 2022. He has since bounced back with three straight wins and is expected to be rallying for a gold bid soon. Meanwhile, this is Edwards’ second consecutive loss after his 13-fight unbeaten streak ended with his title loss to Muhammad at UFC 304 last year.
