O’Malley, who was originally supposed to face Vera at UFC 239 before a failed drug test, has been victorious in his first 12 professional outings. Most recently, “Sugar” Sean scored a first-round knockout of Eddie Wineland at UFC 250 on June 6.
Vera, meanwhile, had a five-bout UFC winning streak snapped in a unanimous decision loss to Yadong Song at UFC on ESPN 8 on May 16. “Chito” is 9-5 during his promotional tenure and 15-6-1 as a professional overall.
Edgar was slated to make his 135-pound debut against Munhoz at “Fight Island” on July 15 before his opponent tested positive for COVID-19. The former lightweight king last appeared at UFC Fight Night 165, where he suffered a first-round TKO loss to Chan Sung Jung in a featherweight main event.
Munhoz saw a three-bout winning streak come to an end at UFC 238, where he dropped a unanimous verdict against Aljamain Sterling. “The Young Punisher” has won seven of his last nine UFC bouts.
