Brazilian prospects Bruno Suema and Ronaldo Candido de Oliveira are set to vie for the vacant Shooto South America flyweight title after both men successfully made weight at Saturday’s official weigh-in for Shooto Brazil 57.
Both fighters tipped the scales at the maximum 125 pounds, though Suema required a second trip to the scale and an extra hour to shed an additional half pound, according to a report from OReporter.com. The championship matchup headlines a 13-bout card which will stream live via UFC Fight Pass on Sunday beginning at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT.
Suema, 24, enters the bout on a four-fight winning streak which includes a pair of victories inside the Shooto cage. The Sao Paulo native will have his hands full against unbeaten BJJ black belt Candido, 26, who has finished all five of his opponents by submission and four inside the first round.
