Paul Buentello has suffered a back injury and will not compete against Bellator heavyweight champion Cole Konrad on Saturday as originally anticipated.
According to a source close to the event, the bout will likely be rescheduled for a later date in 2011, once the UFC veteran's injury has healed. MMAJunkie.com first reported the change.

Also featured will be both light heavyweight tournament semifinals, as Tim Carpenter meets Christian M'Pumbu and D.J. Linderman squares off with Richard Hale. According to Sherdog.com's source, Linderman-Hale will now be the evening's last televised bout, taking the place of Konrad-Buentello. A bantamweight duel between Luiz Alberto Nogueira and Jerod Spoon will also likely be promoted to the main draw in light of Buentello's injury.
Once a UFC heavyweight title challenger, “The Headhunter” was bounced from the promotion last year following consecutive losses in his second big show run. Since dropping bouts to Stefan Struve and Cheick Kongo, Buentello has gone 2-1, losing by knockout to fellow former UFC talent Tim Sylvia between victories in 2010.
