Source: CES MMA Alum Devin Carrier, 21, Killed in Single-Car Crash

CES MMA alum Devin Carrier was killed in a single-car crash on Saturday in Lakeville, Massachusetts, according to a source close to the organization. He was 21 years old.

A training partner of longtime Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Joe Lauzon, Carrier was driving a 2010 Honda Civic on Route 140 when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree at approximately 12:30 p.m., per a report from The Standard Times. Carrier was trapped in the car, the report said. He was transported to St. Luke’s Hospital in New Bedford, Massachusetts, where he was pronounced dead. Carrier’s 19-year-old passenger sustained non-life threatening injuries, according to the report.

Carrier, who competed at 155 pounds, was scheduled to face Connor Barry at CES MMA 37 on Friday at the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island. Barry has since been removed from the card. Carrier posted his first victory as a professional mixed martial artist on April 16, as he evened his record at 1-1 with a first-round technical knockout against Wayne Ahlquist at CES MMA 35.
