Source: Dwight Grant to Fight Carlo Pedersoli Jr. at UFC Prague

Ultimate Fighting Championship welterweight contender Dwight Grant (8-2) was looking for a fight and it seems that he found one. According to a source close to the negotiations, Grant is going to take a business trip to the Old Continent very soon, as he is set to face Italy’s Carlo Pedersoli Jr. (11-2) at UFC’s first foray into the Czech Republic at UFC Fight Night 145.

A Bellator MMA veteran, Grant earned a shot in the UFC after competing in the Season 2 of the Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series, where he knocked out Tyler Hill in the second round. The American Kickboxing Academy representative then fell short in his Octagon debut against Zak Ottow at UFC on Fox 31. Just a little more than a week ago, the 34-year-old, fighting out of New York, stepped up on just six days’ notice to face Chance Rencountre at UFC Fight Night 143. Grant wanted to fill in for Randy Brown, but he was denied clearance by the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC).

“Semento” is also is trying to bounce back after a recent loss. The Gloria Fight Center representative successfully made his UFC debut by defeating Englishman Bradley Scott at UFC Fight Night 130. Pedersoli’s eight-bout winning streak was then snapped by Alex Oliveira in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 137, when the Brazilian “Cowboy” stopped the 25-year-old Rome fighter in just 49 seconds.

UFC on ESPN+ 3 will go down Feb. 23 at the O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic. The event is also known as UFC Fight Night 145 and is scheduled to be headlined by a light heavyweight bout between top-10 contenders Jan Blachowicz and Thiago Santos.
