"Combate Americas is the most exciting addition to MMA since the beginnings of the UFC 20 years ago,” said McLaren. “It was specifically created to present the best new Hispanic fighters and to introduce a whole new audience to this highly entertaining sport.”

Mun2 has ordered 10, one-hour episodes of “Combate Americas,” which will follow 10 mixed martial artists as they compete to win a contract with the promotion of the same name. The series is currently in production in Miami.

A sister network of Telemundo, mun2 is owned by NBCUniversal and is available in nearly 40 million American households, according to TV by the Numbers.

Founded in 1987, Bunim/Murray is best known for producing popular reality programs like “The Real World,” “Road Rules,” “Project Runway” and “Keeping up with the Kardashians.”
